Description

Adds a skeleton for the user profile API keys panel, built on the skeletons from #10029. The skeleton is the real table view rendered with placeholder data, so it can't drift from the loaded markup.

  • Table.Root skeleton and Table.Body skeleton are skeleton containers, like Section.Group: each provides SkeletonContext and becomes inert and aria-hidden. The cells carry no skeleton code. With Body providing its own context, a rows-only refetch shows the rows as bones while the header's Skeletons follow Root and stay real.
  • APIKeysTableView takes skeleton and wraps its loading content in Skeleton: the header labels, the key name, the id and expiry line, and the date cells. The row menus are <Skeleton visible={false}>, so they hold their space without drawing. On first load the search field and Create button are Skeleton blocks of their own size; on a refetch they stay real. While skeleton is set the view skips its create and revoke dialogs and its pagination.
  • The view always renders one status message: "Loading API keys" while loading, then "API keys loaded" from the same element. Keep the same view mounted and flip skeleton (the Loading story does), so the finish is announced.
  • APIKeysTableSkeleton renders the view with skeleton and three placeholder keys of typical length. UserProfileApiKeysPanelSkeleton puts it under the page title wrapped in Skeleton.
  • APIKeysTableView also takes refetchSkeleton (opt-in). With it, the rows become bones while isFetching is set. After a page change or a sort it shows exactly min(pageSize, totalCount − offset) rows; after a search it shows 3. Nothing passes it yet, so production behavior is unchanged: the wired table keeps its spinner and keepPreviousData rows until wire-up adds the delay/min-duration gate.
  • The "Never expires" label is now plain text in its line rather than its own span (same color), so the whole line is text and draws as one bar.

Previews on UserProfileApiKeysPanel:

  • Loading: the first load. Reload replays a 2s fake load.
  • Page change: refetchSkeleton with a 2s fetch. Go to page 2 to see its two rows as bones.

📝 Walkthrough

The changes add a shared Skeleton component with shimmer styles and reduced-motion handling. Sections, tables, API key views, and active-device views gain skeleton loading behavior, including accessibility attributes and loading-status announcements. The changes also add loading stories and documentation, update avatar and backup-code placeholders, and add delayed fetching to the API keys story fixture.

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to 201c8

On a failed API keys load, assistive technology may announce “API keys loaded” even though the error state is displayed. Correct that announcement and the required type annotations; neither finding indicates a broader loading failure.

Add explicit return types to the new functions.

The TypeScript guideline requires explicit return types. Add string to toLength, boolean to isText, and a React node return type to MosaicSkeleton.

Announce the load error instead of “API keys loaded”.

When the initial request fails, isError is true and the view renders the error empty state. The status element still reads m.loaded, so assistive technology announces “API keys loaded” after the request has failed. The status condition does not check isError.

Suggested fix
